Nigeria Army Released Top Boko Haram Commanders Who Surrendered

Top Boko Haram commanders have reportedly surrendered to troops in Operation Hadin Kai.

According to Onyema Nwachukwy who is the army spokesperson said, Chief Bomb Expert of the terrorist group known as Musa Adamu a.k.a Mala Musa Abuja and his second in command Usman Adamu a.k.a Abu Darda were among those that surrendered.

They were received by Acting General Officer Commanding (GOC) 7 Division and Commander Sector 1 OPHK, Brigadier General Abdulwahab Adelokun Eyitayo at Headquarters 21 Special Armoured Brigade Bama on Saturday, 7 August, 2021.

General Eyitayo who spoke through an interpreter, further disclosed that the terrorists who surrendered will undergo some rehabilitation process at a Government facility before reintegration into the larger society.

In photos shared by the army spokesperson, the insurgents who surrendered were seen holding up placards which read, “Nigerians, please forgive us”.
