The sit-at-home order which was directed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) can cause depression and can lead to mental illness in the South-East, a medical practitioner has warned.

Medical Director of Federal Newark psychiatric hospital, Monday Igwe, issued the warning during the commemoration of the 2021 World Mental Health Day.

“All these unfriendly developments lead to losses to many and for some, it might further lead to depression and hopelessness that might trigger full-blown mental health challenge,” he told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
