BREAKING: Over 200 Students Abducted in Niger by Bandits

Many Students have been kidnapped from an Islamiyya school in Tegina, Niger state’s Rafi local government area.

Salihu Tanko Islamiyya School was built by a retired immigration officer in Tegina town. The school is located close to the Tegina police station.

The kidnapping occur months after 27 students, three staff members, and 12 family members were taken from Kagara Science College in Kagara, in the same Rafi local government region.

One individual from the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) community was killed in the incident, which also injured numerous others.

Around 3:45 p.m., gunmen stormed the town, shooting indiscriminately and forcing civilians to find cover.

Before abducting the pupils, the bandits segregated the smaller and weaker kids from the old and powerful ones, according to the Nation.

Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmed Inga, Director General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA), acknowledged the occurrence.
